Our Lines of Wind Chimes & Wind Bells

We're very fortunate to carry the illustrious brands of wind chimes and wind bells that we offer on this site. From previous experience we have found the makers dependable and problem-free when it comes to the construction and delivery of their chimes. We encourage you to read through the following synopsis on these makers and see how serious these wind chime/wind bell makers are about their product.

Grace Notes: (example - Steeple Chime)

Grace Note's Wind Chimes are available in nine sizes and seven tunings, the Classic Wind Chimes and the Steeple Chimes. There is a wind chime for every budget. Grace Notes is located in California.

Grace Notes was started in 1982 by Jeff Kile and his brother Mark. The first wind chimes were tuned by ear to notes played on a guitar. Today, all chimes are tuned to the Key of C, and the aluminum breezecatcher has the corresponding notes and chords engraved on one side. The voicings of these wind chimes can be broken down as such:

Petite - soprano Super - baritone
Small - mezzo Deluxe - baritone
Medium - alto Petite Steeple - mezzo/alto
Large - alto/tenor Steeple Chime - mezzo/alto
Extra Large - baritone

If you're concerned about the environment, you're in good hands with Grace Notes. 95% of their total waste is recycled, and their packaging is minimal and efficient.

This writer has a Large Grace Note's Wind Chime and it is always the first to sound in the lightest of breezes. It has seen some very windy weather, but is none the worse for wear. I've had it for 8 years now - Grace Notes currently warrants their aluminum chimes for 10 years.

Music of the Spheres®: (example - tenor balinese)

The most highly developed company in tonalities and sturdiness is Music of the Spheres® in Texas. Their founder, Larry Roarke, held a music degree in theory. Larry started his company in 1989. He developed tunings of wind chimes that are beautiful, with harmonics in a listenable range and unparalleled reverberation of tone. Music of the Spheres® has been coined "The Stradivarius of Windchimes".

All chimes are tuned to A440. These beautiful instruments of the wind are hand finished and have a black powder coating. Tube diameters up to 1 7/8" are warranted for 7 years, while 2" tubes and larger chimes are guaranteed for 13 years.

Wind Works (example - 20" three-sided bell)

In a remote area of Colorado, Pat McGannon is making his wonderful wind bells out of Cor-ten steel. They're guaranteed to rust. He warrants all moving parts for life.

His bells don't have just one sound, they have three or four - yes, they're three and four-sided bells with each side having a different gauge of steel, producing the different pitches.

Pat got started with Wind Works in 1977. His crew is small yet reliable and they create an excellent product. Steel doesn't resonate like aluminum does, so you don't get the same sound - it is a mellow tone.

Harmony Hollow (example - Love Chime)

Established in 1969 by Jeffrey Cross who pioneered Harmony Hollow and then tragically died - in 1977 brother Bradley Cross took over the business and has been at the helm ever since. On these pages you'll find brass wind chimes. The first thing I thought when I took these out of the box for the photo shoot was that "these are substantial". A beautiful blue-green patina coats them.

Harmony Hollow is in Michigan. The wind chimes are handmade to ring pure and clear. We assigned the arbitrary 10-year warranty, and won't be surprised when they last much, much longer.
