Revo Uninstaller: Free Yourself from Windows Uninstaller

I am constantly loading and unloading new programs that I try out for this blog as well as my personal use. I was aware that Windows Uninstaller (through Control Panel) was leaving register entries, icons, folders and files, but I hadn't heard about Revo Uninstaller. I was most impressed when I checked it out. This program is free.

Now, I don't know that it is any faster than Windows Installer - there's a lot more "hands on" with Revo. But I got a complete picture of my program installations. I deleted in "Advanced" mode, which is the slowest mode in the program.

Revo has four uninstall modes:
  1. Built-in runs the application's uninstaller without any additional scanning
  2. Safe performs additional scans in the Registry and on the hard drive - fastest mode
  3. Moderate performs an extended scan
  4. Advanced performs a deep and thorough scan
Yes, it is possible to run into problems, that's why Revo includes a .bak file with a restore point set at the beginning of the uninstall. That beats some of the messages I've gotten with Windows Uninstaller in the past. I'd encourage you to go to their site and read about the features and the FAQ's, and get your Registry cleaned up right!

Revo Uninstaller also has a portable version available.
